Battle Grounds: Advanced

Here are some of the more advanced battle grounds in World of Warcraft.

Eye of the Storm: This battleground takes place in the Outland zone of Netherstorm, were the goal is to capture the flag in the middle of the BG, bring it back to one of your bases, and keep it. There are four towers: The Fel Reaver Ruins, Mage Tower, Draeni Ruins, and Blood Elf Tower. You earn points for capturing the flag and bringing it to your base. Each Eye of the Storm BG can hold up to 15 horde/alliance players, and people can start playing in this BG at level 61.

Strand of Ancients: This battle ground is a fun new BG introduced in the latest expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. This is pretty much what you do here:

  • The attacking team, Horde/Alliance, starts off the shore on two boats, splitting the attacking team, and goes south toward the relic.
  • The defending team starts at the  South Graveyard and moves to defensive positions on the beach or on the turrets next to the walls.
  • There are 6 walls. There are 2 sets of 2 on each side, and then 2 in the middle line to block the way to the end.
  • There are Siege weapons which will help you destroy the walls, buildings and enemy players.
  • As you capture graveyards on both sides, more siege engines will spawn at the depots behind the first gates. This will allow faster attacks on the remaining 2 gates.
  • Graveyards can not be re-captured by the defending team once they have been capped.
  • Defenders can make use of the turrets on the walls to destroy siege vehicles and kill enemy players.
  • The faction who reaches the relic in the quicker amount of time wins. The second round attackers have as much time to capture the relic as the opposing team took to attain it, making it (at the most) a 20 minute game.
  • If neither team captures the relic, the game is considered a tie (Darn! :D ).

Isle of Conquest:

Isle of Conquest uses a reinforcements system similar to that of Alterac Valley. Every player counts, since the time is against you in this battle ground. If too many of your allies fall to the enemy, the battle will end in defeat. Killing enemy players will reduce their reinforcements by one for each kill, Once your faction’s reinforcements reach their limit, so too does your bid for control of the island and the wealth of resources you’ve fought over.

The Horde keeps  and Alliance keeps sit at opposite ends of the island. These citadels contain six easily accessible defensive cannons set on the ramparts, That you can use to fight attackers from the shore off. Even more explosives sit at ease, stowed in the base of the keep along the back wall. Well, they are safe until they fall into enemy hands, which would suck. If they do, though, they can be employed to bring the stone walls down from within, which is actually the explosives only purpose O.O.  You can get a good number of achievements here the highest amount of achievement points being 20,

[Isle of Conquest All-Star] In a single Isle of Conquest battle, assault a base, defend a base, destroy a vehicle and kill a player.

Have fun doin BG’s! :D
